Humanity is confronted with the grand challenge of how to increase agricultural production to achieve food security during the 21st century and feed a population that is expected to grow to 10 billion people. This needs to be done while maintaining sustainable agricultural systems and simultaneously facing challenges such as a changing climate, depletion of water resources, and the potential for increased erosion and loss of productivity due to the occurrence of extreme weather events. Precision Agriculture emerged out of the advances in the s because of the development of several key technologies like GPS and satellite imagery. This paper argues that with the increasing impact of climate change, the next revolution in precision agriculture and agriculture in general will be driven by Sustainable Precision Agriculture and Environment SPAE, similar to the 7 Rs , which could leverage past technologies combined with Big Data analysis. This new, technology-focused SPAE transitions from a site-specific management focus to the notion of global sustainability. To accomplish this transition, we introduced the WebGIS framework as an organizing principle that connects local, site-specific data generators called smart farms to a regional and global view of agriculture that can support both the agricultural industry and policymakers in government. This will help integrate databases located in networks of networks into a system of systems to achieve the needed SPAE management and connect field, watershed, national, and worldwide sustainability.

However, current large-scale maps show strong disparities, despite good validation statistics of their underlying models. Here, we attribute this contradiction to a flaw in the validation methods, which ignore spatial autocorrelation SAC in data, leading to overoptimistic assessment of model predictive power.

Exam Date: 29th Nov When it comes to descriptive statistics examples, problems and solutions, we can give numerous of them to explain and support the general definition and types. Be on the lookout for cherry-picking, for example, in epidemiological a fancy word for the study of disease that sometimes means: "We didn't go out and collect any data ourselves. The purpose of analysing data is to obtain usable and useful Ordinal scales are seen in questions that call for ratings of quality for example, very good, good, fair, poor. One example of a way data generation can be misinterpreted and cause problems is when data is provided at the user level but is actually generated at a higher level of granularity such as for the company, location, age group the observation is a part of.

The problem of urban waterlogging has consistently affected areas of southern China, and has generated widespread concerns among the public and professionals.

Data sets and R code are available in the Additional Topics through the link above. This post originally appeared as an Additional Topic to my book as described above. Because it may be of interest to a wider community than just agricultural scientists and ecologists, I am posting it here as well. However, it is too long to be a single post.

Shapely Plot Linestring LineString taken from open source projects. After Shapes, we use the method AddChart. But how exactly does that work? Polyline ready. You can enter a numeric value for the degrees of rotation. In our case we are going to plot a route of an aircraft in a round trip flight. In any case, I had to limit the number of features that get plotted because Folium refuses to plot all features at once.

Newton and colleagues found that landscape-scale restoration of agricultural land could increase the contribution of farmland to economic development and employment. Pierce and colleagues analyse heart failure-related deaths among US adults, highlighting county-level factors that contribute to the observed urban-rural divide. Stutz and colleagues report an algorithmic framework for reducing the computational complexity of Interacting Particle Systems simulations. Novak and colleagues analyze remains from a pre-historical mass grave, finding that the inhabitants were unrelated but from a similar genetic background, suggesting the victims were a sample of a larger farming society rather than a family group. These datasets are used for machine-learning research and have been cited in peer-reviewed academic journals. Datasets are an integral part of the field of machine learning. Major advances in this field can result from advances in learning algorithms such as deep learning , computer hardware, and, less-intuitively, the availability of high-quality training datasets. Although they do not need to be labeled, high-quality datasets for unsupervised learning can also be difficult and costly to produce.
