The Pennsylvania Inspired Leadership PIL Program is a statewide, standards-based continuing professional education program for school and system leaders. This comprehensive, cohort-based program is focused on developing the capacity of leaders to improve student achievement. This program meets the requirements of Act 45 of , which directs the Department to establish a Principal Induction Program that addresses the three core PA leadership standards and a Continuing Professional Education Program that addresses the three core and six corollary PA leadership standards. For more information on Act 45 of , refer to a list of answers to Frequently Asked Questions or read the complete text of the Act In addition to the PIL Program course schedules displayed under each Region, a listing of approved programs and courses offered by other entities that meet the requirements for ACT 45 of can be found below. Act 45 of mandates that PDE will receive and review applications from entities wishing to offer programs or courses that provide PIL hours. Proposal application documents and submission schedules are below.
In response to accountability systems dominated by external inspections and achievement data, calls are being made for intelligent accountability or a new accountability paradigm that focuses on meaningful learning, enabled by professionally skilled and committed educators within the system. In such systems, the actors are encouraged to strive for continuous development in learning organisations based on teamwork, distributed leadership, and professional learning communities. School leaders are positioned between district level administrators and teachers in such processes and have the responsibility to secure professional development. Analyses of interviews with leaders from 7 schools reveal three distinct approaches related to how school leaders perceive knowledge. Some school leaders assume that teachers have the necessary knowledge and skills and trust them to manage the implementation process without leader support. These leaders seek external support when they meet teacher resistance.

Educational management refers to the administration of the education system in which a group combines human and material resources to supervise, plan, strategise, and implement structures to execute an education system. The education system is an ecosystem of professionals in educational institutions, such as government ministries, unions, statutory boards, agencies, and schools. The education system consists of political heads, principals, teaching staff, non-teaching staff, administrative personnel and other educational professionals working together to enrich and enhance. Educational management is related to Henri Fayol 's 14 Principles of Management. Co-curricular activities help students maintain a holistic education , expressing their interests and talents. The activities help foster a sense of social integration, and add a sense of commitment and belonging to one's community and country. Co-curricular activities include science-oriented talent-development programmes, clubs and societies, sports, uniformed groups, and visual- and performing-arts groups.
